Reliability
Peco Controls-Europe Ltd has been supplying Cryotech’s CryoDosers (which is just one model in their range of liquid nitrogen dosing systems) for some years now. It is the fastest doser on the market, capable of individual doses at 108,000 containers per hour.
We are finding that despite these high speeds, the moving parts within the dosing head of the CryoDoser are lasting for over 2 years. In fact, one customer (who doses at 1,500 containers per minute) has not had to replace any of the components in the dosing head of their Cryodoser, which has now been working successfully for 4 years!
Peco launches Cryotech’s New UltraClean Dosing System
The three Cryotech dosing systems (CryoDoser, UltraDoser 850 and UltraDoser) are now available in 316L stainless steel. They are supplied with a fully encased dosing head known as the ‘EP’ which facilitates wash-down with aggressive cleaning agents, with no detrimental effect on the dosing system.
Peco Nozzle Pre-Cool eliminates soft bottles
This system was launched last year and is working out well with clients.
When a production line is stopped, the small nozzle inside the dosing system warms up due to atmospheric temperature. This means that when the line restarts, a small amount of liquid nitrogen re-cools the nozzle. This in turn, results in slightly less than the target amount of liquid nitrogen being delivered to the bottle and consequently, the first few containers have a slight lower pressure than the following bottles.
This problem is resolved with the use of the new nozzle pre-cool system.
More consistent dosing
Cryotech’s new, improved control systems are enabling our customer to benefit from more consistent dosing.
Bottle pressures of +/- 1 psi (0.07bar) are being achieved at full line speed.
Grant Booth, of the Peco Service Team, explains:
"The ability to change the amount of liquid nitrogen dosed at varying production speeds, gives us more control when commissioning a dosing system. Coupled with the detailed information provided by the encoder, we can set the dose exactly where we want it and adjust it as the filler speed changes.
Originally these units were set up by eye but now, by using a high speed camera, we are able see the dosing process and note how it changes with the filler speed.
With the new controllers we have the adjustment which allows us to provide these accurate bottle pressures." |
