X-Ray Inspection Can Applications

The detection of foreign bodies inside metal packaging has until now been unacheivable at the production speeds required by Europe's largest food and beverage canners.

The Scantrac x-Ray inspection systems set a new bench mark in x-ray inspection, allowing multiple inspection points at full line speeds (200 m/min or upto 2200 cpm). Unlike other systems requiring costly conveyor modifications and infeed scrolls or strawheels the Scantrac fits directly over your existing conveyor and will inspect containers back to back - a feature unique to this system.

The Scantrac x-ray inspection systems are able to give you and your customers the security of knowing that all your production in the market place has been properly inspected and is free from dangerous contaminants. Reducing your consumer complaints and protecting against potentially damaging litigation.

Typical applications include (but are not limited to) one or more of the following inspections:

Smallest size of contaminant possible to detect will vary based on multiple factors, including: size of can, type of can (2pc/3pc, EOE or standard end), density of contaminant, false reject tolerance, line speed etc.

The experience of current customers is that they are finding contaminants that they did not expect to find in their products. Customers are alerted to contaminants in their raw products which has allowed them to work with their suppliers to correct the problems.

Peco Food and Beverage welcomes testing of your specific product and contaminant samples.
